The Science of Reading is a large body of research that examines how the brain learns to read. This research has consistently shown that strong readers develop skills in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Structured Literacy

Many struggling readers benefit from instruction that is clear, systematic, and explicit.

Structured literacy breaks reading into manageable skills and teaches them in a logical sequence. Students are taught how sounds connect to letters, how words are formed, and how language works. Skills are introduced step-by-step and reviewed frequently to promote mastery and long-term retention.

Explicit phonics teaches students how letters and letter patterns represent sounds. Rather than expecting students to guess words or rely on pictures, we teach them the tools needed to decode unfamiliar words independently.
